Business and Employment

The Business and Employment chapter looks at a number of important issues in this sector. One of the biggest issues which the chapter concentrates on is the make-up of the country’s working population. The size of the working population, their conditions of work, unemployment figures for the country and each province, and the racial breakdown of the working population are all given. The chapter also provides statistics and information on poverty and income trends. Industrial relations are also covered. Entrepreneurship, black economic empowerment, and statistics on South African business are also provided.
